Orangutan Tour Description
Boat ride up Sekoyer river, enjoy searching wildlife surrounding the forest. some group of proboscis monkey, long tail macaque are normally easy to find a long the river bank. when the lucky with you, False Gavial crocodile sometime come up on the water survey for dry out specially at the black water river up to camp leakey. You have opportunity to take long hike at camp leakey, pondok tanggui, pesalat and enjoy watching orangutan feeding time at 3 different camp : Tanjung harapan, Pondok Tanggui camp and Camp Leakey. You may take our challenging night observation by short trek in Pesalat or Pondok tanggui. Overnight at very comfortable air conditioning room at Rimba Lodge or feel adventurous accommodation overnight on the boat.


Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive at Pangkalan bun
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be picked up then drive to Kumai for 20 minutes board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2.5m with roof upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. The guide's team includes the boatman, own chef and guide. In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the wildlife such as long noses monkey, long tail macaque, birds. Dinner and overnight on the boat. simple mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple western toilet available on boat. L,D

Day 2 : Full day visit Camp Leakey and trekking
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2½ hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest and also known as research center. Trekking through tropical rain forest searching for wildlife, wild orangutan, birds and other rain forest animals as well as tropical jungle plant. Back to the boat for lunch then witness feeding time at 14.00 pm for old rehabilitation given additional foods. Dinner on the boat. Overnight on the boat . B, L, D

Day 3 : Pondok Tanggui - Pesalat - Tanjung Harapan
Board the klotok to travel up the river for Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. Afterward continuing the trip to Pesalat replantation camp, See the process of replantation project or take this opportunity to hike at forest. In the afternoon visit Tanjung harapan rehabilitation center and witness an other feeding time at 15.00. Free afternoon program, we could visit village near by the park. Dinner on the boat. Overnight on the boat . B, L, D
(Free additional program :  night walking  searching for nocturnal animal or glowing mushroom or just enjoy down the river at nipah palm mangrove observing fireflies )

Day 4 : Second visit full day Camp Leakey
Cruise up the river for second visit to Camp Leakey. As the camp know as home of wildlife you may meet and see different orangutan or other wildlife surrounding the forest. B, L, D .

Day 5 : National park - Kumai - Pangkalan Bun airport
Free morning program or just enjoy the forest and surrounding, before transfer to Airport for your next destination ( B ) . Tour end.
