Orangutan Tour Description
Unlike the 5 days soft and easy program, This 5 days orangutan trekking designed for special Peoples who would like to have a bit challenging trekking through tropical rain forest. Trekking will be started from Pondok Tanggui camp to Pesalat camp which is took around one days trek. The best time to do this program is during dry season as mentioned above , during rainy season the forest cover with water because most our trek area is swamp forest. Overnight in the middle of the forest is one of the highlight of this program, beside still orangutan is the main destination


Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive at Pangkalan bun
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be picked up then drive to Kumai for 20 minutes board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2.5m with roof upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. The guide's team includes the boatman, own chef and guide. In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the wildlife such as long noses monkey, long tail macaque, birds. Dinner and overnight on the boat. simple mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple western toilet available on boat. L,D .

Day 2 : Full day visit Camp Leakey
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest and also known as research center for Orangutan. Trekking through tropical rainforest searching for wildlife, wild orangutan, birds and other rainforest animals as well as tropical jungle plant. Back to the boat for lunch then witness feeding time at 14.00 pm for old rehabilitation orangutan given additional foods. Dinner on the boat. Overnight on the boat. B, L, D

Day 3 : Pondok Tanggui - Pesalat
Start from Pondok tanggui after enjoy orangutan feeding time. Have full day trekking accompanied by local expert through the forest while observing wildlife surrounding. Lunch will be provided at the forest. Reach Pesalat in the late afternoon, set the tend and having dinner at the open air in the middle of the forest. During night we might have night observation for nocturnal animal, glowing mushroom is often found. ( B, L, D )

Day 4 : Pesalat surrounding - Tanjung Harapan
Early morning is the best time for bird watching, or just enjoy the forest surrounding while enjoy breakfast. Our beginning activities today, join with replantation project by planting the tropical plant. back to the boat, for having lunch afternoon visit Tanjung harapan rehabilitation center and witnest feeding time. Night boating down the river to observe fireflies around at the nipah palm mangrove.

Day 5 : National park - Kumai - Pangkalan Bun airport
Free morning program or just enjoy the forest and surrounding, before transfer to Airport for your next destination ( B ) . Tour end.
